Updating oak cabinets bathroom
This past month I consulted with homeowners with Builder Grade Oak Cabinets to select a wall color that would enhance the wood.
The Southern California remodeling services we proudly offer include: Kitchen Remodeling – When remodeling your kitchen, the options are endless. There was nothing wrong with our kitchen when we first purchased our home 8 years ago.The layout was very functional, the cabinets were sturdy, the tile and appliances did their job but it was so not me.Since I am such a neophyte at DIY projects…I pretty much followed her instructions to the T…but I did end up doing a few things differently. :-)So Final thoughts and impressions: SO pleased with how it turned out and would recommend the project to anyone!I assume this is typical because no two projects are alike. I think it’s a good project for “first timers” like myself. I learned a lot and can’t wait to start on MY bathroom next. Over the years I kept a binder with pictures of my dream kitchens and drooled over model homes with eat in islands and gourmet stove tops.I love white kitchens, and consider them to be a classic.Make a "cut list" by measuring the size of each veneer piece needed to cover the existing cabinet. The face frame of the cabinet will be covered with individual strips that have the wood grain running in the same direction as the original cabinet. I finally succumbed to the DIY bug and decided to tackle a somewhat significant project in my house. (I figured I’d use their bathroom as the guinea pig project and if it wasn’t a colossal fail I would try it in MY bathroom.)I was immediately intrigued, because MY bathroom looked SO similar to hers in the BEFORE photos. :-) After over a year of blogging and researching and surfing and pinning…. I About two weeks ago, with the help my daughter Britta, I decided to dive head first into my first ever “grown up” DIY project….refinishing the cabinets in the “boys bathroom”.
